PICTURE SPECIAL: THERE are celebrations in Letterkenny this evening after St Eunan’s U16 Camogs landed their first ever County A Championship title after a thrilling win over Burt.
Reigning champs Burt went into the game in Buncrana as firm favourites.
But after withstanding an early Burt charge, the Eunan’s girls began to control proceedings and were unlucky not to be well ahead by half-time.
As it was Casey Barrett’s goal for the black-and-amber was the difference between the sides.
St Eunan’s continued to control the game after the re-start and captain fantastic Sinead O’Kane hit two wonderful points with Alisha Tobin chipping in with a score from her boot.
The victory follows a great year for the St Eunan’s camogie girls, with the U14s landing the Championship, League and Feile treble already this year for manager Joe Kealy.
Final score St Eunan’s 1-03, Burt no score.
