Figures released by the INMO show that sixteen people are waiting for a bed at Letterkenny University Hospital this morning.
11 are waiting on trolleys and 5 are waiting on ward overflow areas.
This follows a statement from management at the hospital yesterday informing people to expect delays as they had implemented their Full Capacity Protocol, for the third time in three weeks, which saw 21 people waiting on a bed. They asked people to only attend the Emergency Department in the event of a genuine emergency.
275 people across Ireland are waiting on a bed today, 204 of which are on trolleys and 71 are in ward overflow areas, a slight decrease from yesterday’s 301 people waiting.
