Figures released by the INMO today show that 21 people are currently waiting on a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital.
3 are waiting on trolleys, and 18 are waiting in ward overflow areas.
This follows a statement from management at the hospital this morning informing people to expect delays as they have implemented their Full Capacity Protocol and have asked people to only attend the Emergency Department in the event of a genuine emergency.
Nationally, today has been one of the busiest days in August for Irish hospitals as 301 people wait for a bed; 244 wait on trolleys and 83 wait on wards.
