His rest period was planned, but his support crew have confirmed that he is suffering with considerable pain in his feet.
Despite the discomfort, moral is very high in the camp, and his support crew is delighted with the progress Black is making.
The last update issued on his Facebook timeline, told followers that he was back on his bike after sleeping for a few hours.
Shortly after 5am, he was back on the bike and was pictured cycling towards Castlebar.
Jason Black is cycling the 2150km race around Ireland 2016 carrying the Blue banner in support of the Donegal Autism Family Support Group – helping create awareness of support for parents and carers of loved ones on the autism spectrum.
Prior to the start of the race, Jason told Donegal Daily, “The magic of life is not knowing what lays ahead, we shouldn’t be afraid of change or the unpredictable challenges that life throughs at us, yes for sure we have to change, retrain ,work hard and face walls that seam times unclimbable.
“It involves looking at it possibly from a different angle to get to where we can, at times with the support of others.
“In life you have 3 choices, Give Up, Give In, or Give it your all.”
We’ll continue to update you on Jason’s progress as he continues to participate in this remarkable event.
