The Derry/Londonderry chapter of the Royal Black Preceptory held their parade in Raphoe this weekend. This is the first time the parade has taken place in Donegal for eleven years.
Over 40 preceptories took place in the parade. The parade followed the route through Raphoe to the demonstration field at Sparrow Hill, where a religious ceremony took place. The main celebrant at the service was Sir Knt Rev Joe Andrews, the County Grand Chaplin, and the guest speaker was Sir Knt Ivan Kelly, the Deputy Grand Master of the chapter.
The district officers were clad in period-clothing in memory of the previous Sir Knts who perished during the Battle of the Somme in 1916.
Some of the finest bands in the north west turned out to take part in the Last Saturday march.
