Raphoe Family Resource Centre: Afterschool Programme Registration
Registration for the Family Resource Centre’s Afterschool Programme will take place from 3-6pm on Tuesday 6th September with the Programme commencing on the following Tuesday 13th September. There is a registration fee of €7.00 per child for insurance purposes. We look forward to welcoming back all our regulars and of course new members are most welcome.
Back to School Hamper Winner
The winner of our Back to School Hamper was former staff member Lorraine Laird, St. Eunan’s Terrace, Raphoe and its lovely to see Lorraine still supporting the work of the Family Resource Centre.
Sincere thanks to everyone who bought lines for the draw and we really appreciate the community’s continuing support for our fundraising activities.
A special thank you to the staff of the Post Office in Centra for collecting and safekeeping the money collected.
Women’s Group
The Women’s Group meets on a fortnightly basis and it take place on Mondays from 8pm here in the Family Resource Centre. The Women’s Group will start back on Monday 19 th September 2016. The group has been together for many years. We chat; we help each other out, make crafts, have cooking demonstrations, plan activities for International Women’s Day and have many social outings throughout the year. If you would like to be a part of this group, please don’t hesitate to come along. We are really interested in your ideas and the first meeting is the perfect evening to join the group. Something Special Group
The Something Special Support Group have had a fantastic Summer, enjoying family days out, thank you to everyone who has supported the group throughout the year in their fundraising efforts to make all these outings possible.
The group’s next meeting is taking place on Tuesday 13 th September. The group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 8pm. If you are a parent/guardian of a child with delayed communication or learning skills or Autism Spectrum Disorder, you will find support, advice and information by attending this support group.

50-50 Bonus Ball
There was no winner of this week’s Bonus Ball so there will be a rollover going into next week.
To enter the next Bonus Ball Draw please call into the Family Resource Centre in The Volt House before Saturday of each week. Good luck!
Raphoe Boxing club
The junior boxers, 8 years to 11 years will start back on Monday 19 th September at 6pm. All young girls and boys are welcome to come along.
The first championships of the new season will be the Donegal Novice Championships that will take place on Sunday 25 th September in the Letterkenny Clubhouse.
Raphoe boxers Dennis Lafferty and Oran McDermott along with Coach Gerard Keavney and Secretary Peter O’Donnell will travel to Philadelphia on 2 nd November to take part in a major tournament in Essington, P.A. More details of this tournament will appear in the local press in the coming weeks.
Raphoe Friday Club
The Friday Club meets every Friday morning in the Volt House Hall from 10.30am- 12.30. We would like more in our community to come along and be a part of the Group.
There will be events organised over the summer so come along and join in the craic! Refreshments are also provided. Transport is available on Friday mornings and if you require this please phone 0749145462 and arrange.
