Milford GAA club have created history and will play in Division One next season following their three-point home win over Glenfin.

Danny O’Donnell in his first year in charge has had an incredible year, and has gained promotion to the big time for a club plying their trade in Division Four just a few short years ago.

The former Naomh Muire manager has been a revelation since taking over, and has built on the solid foundations that had been planted by the previous managerial teams at the club.

Cathal McGettigan and Christopher Barrett were in sensational form, with the pair contributing ten points between them.

McGettigan landed some great scores from placed balls, while Barrett continually drove at the heart of the Glenfin defence.

Substitute Kyle Black netted a crucial goal in the second-half, and they managed to keep Glenfin at bay to record a 1-15 to 2-09 victory.

That result ensured that Milford will play in Division One next season, what an incredible achievement by everybody associated with the club.

They’ll be some partying done in Milford tonight!

The weekend could get even better for Milford if SP Barrett can lead Donegal to the All-Ireland minor final.
