FOOTBALL: Finn Harps have been dealt a blow with the news that Raymond Foy has left Finn Park by mutual consent.
Foy, was the club’s Player of the Year last term as Harps gained promotion to the Premier Division after a sensational play-off victory over Limerick.
The former Derry City midfielder has been in an out of the side all season, and has suffered a number of minor injury setbacks throughout the season.
However, his departure has come as a bolt out of the blue, and with Gareth Harkin already side-lined, it limits Ollie Horgan’s options in midfield considerably.
The club also announced the departures of Matthew Crossan, who has signed for Fanad United, and Michael Rafter who left eh club a number of weeks ago.
Harps fans will be bemused at Foy’s departure, and it will be interesting to see he goes now, a move to the Irish League is the most likely option for Foy.
