Olympics: Donegal Olympian Brendan Boyce has issued a rallying cry ahead of his Men’s 50k walk in Rio which takes places at 12pm. (Irish time)
Boyce, competing in his second Olympic Games, has told his army of fans that he’ll leave nothing in the tank and that the Irish jersey brings out the best in him.
He finished 29th in the same race at the London Olympics, which was later upgraded to 26th after the disqualification of three Russian athletes is hoping to build on that credible finish.
The Milford walker posted the following message on his Facebook timeline earlier this morning.
“The day has come, 4 years in the making. Less than 4 hours out the roads of Rio.
“Thanks for following my journey and I’ll leave nothing in the tank and everyone knows that.
“The Irish vest always brings out the best in me.”
Brendan is the last Donegal Olympian in action, and we wish him all the best ahead of his race in under an hour’s time.
