Brendan Boyce, will be the last Donegal Olympian to compete at the Olympic Games in Rio, when he participates in the men’s 50k walk.
Milford man Boyce has enjoyed an excellent season to date, and hopes are high he can produce a performance capable of getting him on the podium.
His teammate, and training partner Rob Heffernan is also expected to feature amongst the medals.
Boyce, made his Olympic bow in London 2012, and delivered a hugely respectful first time performance by finishing 29th overall.
That was later upgraded to 26th place, after the disqualification on three Russian athletes.
The race starts tomorrow at noon. (Irish time)
