Aoife McColgan
There was disappointment for Aoife McColgan and her Donegal Ladies senior teammates on Saturday when they were beaten by Dublin on a scoreline of Dublin 1-13 Donegal 2-07 in the all-Ireland quarter final.
It has still been a remarkable season for Aoife who has established herself between the Donegal ‘sticks’ at senior and minor level and the club are extremely proud. She is up for Ireland under 19 trials on Tuesday in Dublin and the club would like to wish her good luck.
Ceili
The club are holding a Ceili of Friday night in St. Patrick’s Hall, Malin at 9:00pm. Music is by the Martin Duggan Ceili Band. Admission €5 with supper served.
Malin GAA 5K
Malin GAA held their first 5K last Wednesday evening. A wet day didn’t put the over 120 people off taking part. It was a hugely successful community event. The club would like to thank all the people who took part, especially the large amount of underage kids that took part.
We would also like to thank Inishowen AC for assisting, Frank Scott -NuWorld Heating, our Sponsor, all our stewards, everyone who helped with the tea (Bridget Miller, Claire Edward), Sean McLaughlin Henry of Inishowen Motors for providing the lead vehicle, our first-aiders (Annmarie Monagle, Theresa O’Hagan) and the Finance Committee for their organisation of the 5K and anyone else who helped in any way. We hope to do it again next year, so keep the date free.
The race was won by Conor Gallagher in a time 20.23 of followed by Charles Byrne and Shane Mulhern. Anna McGinley was the first woman home in a time of 21.40 and fourth overall.
