Daniel James Farrier wants to thank locals for the support he has received over the past few weeks after suffering from a serious head injury in Dungloe in late July when he fell from the cabin of an articulated lorry.
Speaking to Donegal Daily, he said; “I feel a lot better now, I’m back home with my family for a bit but I’ll be back over to see and thank everyone for all of their support. Thanks goes out to the people of Dungloe.”
Daniel would like to especially thank Megan Westbury, who found him and contacted paramedics. “If it wasn’t for her, I might not be here now.”
Daniel suffered from a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain, and explained how medical professional didn’t think he was going to pull through at first.
He had been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital but was later transferred to Dublin, where he was hospitalised for five days.
He explained that the whole event is a blur. He remembers the hours leading up to the fall but cannot remember anything after it occurred.
He has extended extreme gratitude to locals for all of the support they have shown him over the past few weeks.
