Colm McFadden, one of Donegal’s greatest ever players has called time on his player career in the aftermath of their exit to Dublin this evening.
McFadden, appeared as a late substitute for Donegal in their five point defeat to Dublin in this evening’s All-Ireland quarter-final.
McFadden was sensational in 2012, when Donegal captured Sam after a twenty year wait.
His performances were incredible, and he finished that season as Donegal’s top scorer.
He’s Donegal’s record scorer and appearance holder after a glorious career.
He ran Karl Lacey close for the GAA Footballer of the Year in 2012.
McFadden didn’t feature as much as he would’ve liked this season, but what a wonderful servant he has been.
He’s still one of the best club players in the business, and will continue to be a thorn in the side of clubs sides across Donegal for years to come.
What a player! Thanks for the memories Colm, we’ll never forget your contribution, especially in 2012.
Enjoy your retirement!
