GAA: Donegal are trailing Dublin by FIVE points at half-time in their All-Ireland quarter-final clash at Croke Park.
Donegal have worked extremely hard and have forced Dublin to kick from long range.
However, Dublin have their shooting boots on, and Diarmaid Connolly (2) Paddy Andrews and Philly McMahon have landed some incredible points.
Donegal almost got off to a nightmare start, Brian Fenton burst through their defence after thirty seconds, and he found Connolly, but his effort was wonderfully denied by Mark Anthony McGinley.
Dublin got the first two points off the game from Dean Rock (free) and Philly McMahon, but Donegal hit back through a free and a 45 from Michael Murphy.
Dean Rock edged them in front again, and added scores from McManamon and Connolly to go three ahead.
Connolly then had another glorious goal chance, a free flowing move set him free, but one-on-one with McGinley he dragged his effort wide.
Murphy pegged them back with another free, but Dublin added another two points, one from Ciaran Kilkenny after a wonderful move, and the other from Paddy Andrews.
It was an outrageous point from an almost impossible angle. Donegal registered their first point from play through Anthony Thompson to cut the deficit to four.
However, Connolly had the final say with a stunning point off his left peg to send Jim Gavin’s side five points ahead at the interval.
