GAA power-brokers are set to scrap All-Ireland quarter-finals, replays and league semi-finals as part of new proposed championship structures.
The GAA are expected the announce the proposed changes to the senior championship later this afternoon.
Reports suggest that among the proposed changes are plans to abolish All-Ireland quarter-finals – and replace them with two groups of four competing in a round-robin competition to reach the semi-finals.
The provincial championships and qualifier system would continue unchanged, while replays are also set to be scrapped.
Changes have also been proposed to the League format, with semi-finals also getting chopped from the roster.
We’ll have more on this as more information is released later this afternoon.
