The Junior B football team were away to Convoy on Friday last and played out a good win. This victory leaves the lads top of their group and they now progress to the semifinal of the Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure Junior B Championship.
Due to fixture changes the senior footballers had no game at the weekend.
Last Wednesday evening the U-21 footballers recorded a four point win over Downings and their next match will be a quarter final appearance with the opposition to be confirmed later.
The U-16 lads continued their winning form with a victory over Naomh Mhuire Conmhaigh and are fixed to play Glenfin next.
Our young U-8 and U-10 Camogs travelled to Burt to take part in a well organised blitz last Friday evening. The girls played a few games against the Burt Camogs and then took part in a mixed game. Thanks to Burt for hosting and the hospitality after.
The underage football training is taking a short break and will resume on 14th August.
U-12 girls football training takes place at the pitch every Sunday morning from 11am-12noon. All welcome.
Cúl Camps
Letterkenny Gaels had a busy 5 days at Pairc na nGael when we held our annual Cúl Camp last week. Under the watchful eye of Oisin Cannon and coaches Cormac Cannon, Aidan Hanley, Shane Graham, Dan Harnett assisted by Brendan Finney, Rory Quinn, Conor McBearty and Emma Tinney.
All 99 participants enjoyed themselves and were delighted with the gear. County star Michael Murphy made an appearance on Thursday and spent time talking with the children and signing autographs. Special thanks to the helpers during the week, Anna Gallagher, Ross Marley, Orla McAleney, Niamh Hanley, Eoghan Harkin, Niall Diver, Shaun McGiolloway, Keelan Margey, Kieran Kilfeather.
Camogie
Camogie Training continues at Pairc na nGael every Monday from 6pm-7.30pm for U12s, 14s, 16s & 18s and Friday evenings from 6-7.00pm for U8s, 10s, 12s & 14s.
Bookings are still being taken for the Camogie Camp which will run from 10th to 12th of August at Pairc na nGael. The camp is open to girls from 6 – 14 years and will run from 10am – 2.30pm daily. Cost – €20 first girl, €15 second, €10 third, etc. All girls will receive a t-shirt. To book please contact 086 8163605 for more details.
All coaches are fully Garda vetted and are GAA accredited. All welcome.
Hurling
Letterkenny Gaels U-12 hurlers traveled to McCumhaills on Thursday evening and enjoyed the opportunity to play on the County grounds in Ballybofey.
A very sporting challenge game was played using a mixture of both teams. We have no game next week and are fixed to play neighbors St. Eunans on the 18th of August.
Outdoor Hurling training for U-6, U-8 & U-10 continues every Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Hurls and helmets provided. New players welcome.
U-12 to U-18 hurling continues every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm – 7.30pm
Bingo
Bingo continues every Monday in Arena 7. The Jackpot this week is €2350. Doors from 8pm. Eyes down 9pm. All welcome.
