A Letterkenny family has been chosen to front an international advertising campaign by global whole food nutrition giant Juice Plus+.
Mary and Seamus Penrose, along with their two children Abbie (3) and Jamie (5), are to be the faces of the multinational health supplement company’s latest media campaign which is will be filmed in Switzerland next week.
The local family will fly business class to Basel today for an all-expenses paid six-day trip of a lifetime.
Mary and Seamus Penrose, who are Ireland’s leading Juice Plus+ franchisees as part of their business Sculpt Your Life, are among only three families from across Europe to be taking part in the high level advertising production.
The new promotional video is expected to be rolled out world-wide on social media and selected mainstream media later this year.
Former Crana College secondary school teacher Mary and former carpenter Seamus were both delighted and “a little stunned” when first approached by the company’s marketing team to represent Ireland and the UK in the Juice Plus+ Child Health Study campaign.
“It was huge surprise to be asked to get involved in the Juice Plus+ worldwide marketing campaign. The offer came totally out of the blue but we quickly decided as a family that it was an opportunity we simply couldn’t refuse.
“Abbie and Jamie just loved the idea of being movie stars, if only just for a week.
“We don’t quite know what to expect but, having worked with Juice Plus+ for three years, we’re certain the experience will be nothing short of fantastic. We are one of only three families taking part with the others being flown in from Spain and Italy,” she added.
The Juice Plus+ Children’s Health Study campaign is centred on promoting healthy living in children – something that is no stranger to the Penrose household.
Mary explained: “The concept of the campaign video involves families working with a health coach and nutritionist to face the challenges of getting kids to eat nutritious whole food.
“During filming we’ll be interviewed on a range of healthy living aspects to our lives including the importance of getting enough fruit and vegetables in our family meals, the challenges faced in encouraging our kids to eat healthily and the role of Juice Plus+ in our children’s nutrition.
“Healthy living is very important in our house and we strive to ensure that, with the help of Juice Plus+ as part of a balanced diet, we get all the whole food nutrition we’ll ever need.
“Since I made the big decision to become a Juice Plus+ distributor three years ago all of our lives and lifestyles have been transformed. It has provided us with a family friendly, health-promoting, work-life balance that allows us to live life on our own terms while running our increasingly successful Sculpt Your Life family business from home.
“At the heart of Sculpt Your Life is a dedication to encourage people to make little lifestyle changes that can have a huge effect on health. This media campaign fits cosily into our belief that as adults it is up to us to lead by example by adopting healthier lifestyles. More fruit and vegetables instead of sweets and fast food, drinking plenty of the right fluids and getting more exercise are simple ways to introduce our kids to a healthier lifestyle.
