COUNTDOWN TO CROKER: This time tomorrow, we could all be talking about the tantalising prospect of a Donegal versus Dublin quarter-final clash, but before we can think about that – there’s the small problem of defeating Cork.
Cork may not be the force they once were, but wins over Limerick and Longford have restored confidence in the Rebel County.
Rory Gallagher will be aware of the quality they possess, and he has named the same side he picked for the Ulster SFC final against Tyrone.
Although, as we know Eamon McGee replaced Martin McElhinney before the Ulster final defeat in Clones.
It will be interesting to see if the same thing happens tomorrow at GAA HQ.
It would be harsh if McGee was dropped as he has performed well this season, although the wide open spaces would suit the pace and power McElhinney has in abundance.
Donegal are hot favourites to progress, but it promises to be an intriguing clash and Gallagher will be hoping his side can put the disappointment of the Ulster final behind them.
A win would see them face Dublin in a mouth-watering clash next weekend.
Donegal team to face Cork: Mark Anthony McGinley, Paddy McGrath, Kieran Gillespie, Neil McGee, Frank McGlynn, Ryan McHugh, Karl Lacey, Rory Kavanagh, Martin McElhinney, Anthony Thompson, Odhran Mac Niallais, Eoin McHugh, Paddy McBrearty, Michael Murphy, Marty O’Reilly.
