GAA player Mark McHugh has issued an appeal to motorists to take care on the roads after a dark week for Donegal.
In a devastating week for Donegal, five people tragically lost their lives, while two others involved in the accidents are in critical condition in hospital.
Barney McGinley (28) Dermot Boyle (20) Steven McCafferty-McGrath (19) Teresa Robinson (20) and Kaylem O’Murchaidh (19) all lost their lives in two separate car collisions in the last number of days.
Mark’s brother Ryan is a Road Safety ambassador for Donegal and has featured in road safety campaigns.
McHugh, who will hope to feature for Donegal tomorrow in their All-Ireland qualifier against Cork has appealed for motorists to take care on the roads.
He tweeted, “Five people killed in Donegal in under 24hrs.
“All under 30 – life is precious folks. Better late than not arriving! Take care out there please!”
