Well done to our county U21 hurlers at the weekend. Once again the club was well represented in the Donegal jersey.
Many thanks to all who helped and raised money at the club car wash this weekend.
U21 Football:
Well done to our U21 footballers on a great win over Kilcar in the U21 championship this week.

Minor Hulers
Buncrana minor hurlers completed the hatrick of county minor titles with a dramatic late win against rivals St Eunans.
It was nip and tuck throughout with no quarter asked or given, it wasn’t a game for the purist but what it lacked in skill was made up for in drama.
The Letterkenny outfit started the hungrier, boosted in their number by a few players from Dungloe whos physical presence suited a night that was punctuated by heavy rain making tidy stick work difficult.
An early Eunan’s goal was matched by a great finish from Oisin Grant to the back of the net, both sides traded points from play and frees. Points from Daniel Deery, Ben Doherty, Arran Craig and 3 from Dylan Duffy meant the Scarvey boys went in at half time leading 1:6 to 1:4.
The second half started brightly for Letterkenny, scoring freely to take a commanding 4 point lead and looking likely to go on and lift the trophy.
The St Eunan’s keeper made 2 point plank saves and the crossbar was rattled, time was ticking on and goals where going to be needed.
First up was Arran Craig to rattle the net from a narrow angle to leave the minimum between the sides, Eunan’s pushed it back to a 2 point game from a dead ball, it was moving closer to the final whistle when Dylan Duffy caught a high ball and was mauled to the ground leaving a 25 yard free. Up stepped Ben (roe) Doherty to rattle the back of the net.
Jubilation for Buncrana, devistation for Eunan’s! Buncrana were well served by the outstanding man of the match Fiachra mac Lochlainn, who when the chips where down dug deep to drive his team mates on, a young John Vaughan, Patrick Wilson and Paul Tourish were also best in defence. Up front it just didn’t happen and this squad will know that a step up in training will be needed if a third Ulster title is going to be won.
This is no mean feat; 3 League and Championship wins back to back, also overturning the U16 championship loss to the same St Eunan’s side in 2014.
St Eunans deserve great credit for their part in a thrilling match.

U16 Football
The U16s were up against Termon last Monday night. Termon are always a well drilled side and the boys knew a test was ahead. Buncrana started in determined fashion and went into a good early lead with goals from Ryan Hegerty (1-3), Matthew Mulholland (2-2)….half time score 3-8 to 0-4.
The second half was a useful execrise in giving squad players and players coming back from injuries a chance of a decent run out….the highlight of the night came from dedicitated squad player Emmett ‘Winkers’ McLaughlin (1-1) who scored a long range goal and an excellent point. Final score: Buncrana 4-12 Termon 1-11.
The result means the U16’s are through to the Div1 league 1/4 finals and will play Div 1 Championship later in September….well done lads.
