IT was a scoreline which caused a mixture of shock and disbelief when news filtered out this afternoon that Glenswilly had beaten St Eunan’s in a senior men’s league game – by 3-2.
With county player from both teams missing – training with the county squad – the game was expected to be close.
But many people reacted by thinking the Division One sides had decided to play a soccer game instead.
There was just one point in the second half – and 27 wides as blanket defences forced long range (and poor) shooting.
Former Donegal senior player Kevin Cassidy took to Twitter to say: “holy god the end has arrived ah well it was fun while it lasted.”
