Finn Harps has confirmed that their League of Ireland Premier Division match against Dundalk scheduled for Monday, 15th August at Oriel Park will not take place on that date.
The game has been postponed due to the Co. Louth side’s continued involvement in European competition.
A date for the rescheduled fixture will be announced in due course.
It’s the third time this season that Ollie Horgan’s side has had a league game postponed due to League of Ireland teams commitments in Europe.
In addition to the Dundalk game the other fixtures involved St. Patrick’s Athletic and Cork City.
The Pat’s match has been played but Harps must now wait and see when dates are fixed for the rescheduled games against Cork and Dundalk, the top two teams in the Premier Division.
A spokesman for Finn Harps said the postponements have put Harps’ small squad under increased pressure.
“While the progress of League of Ireland teams in Europe is very much welcomed, the postponements do put Ollie Horgan’s small part-time squad under extra pressure as the club bids to stay in the top flight next season.”
