Eclipse Cinemas are celebrating 20 years in business this Saturday the 23rd of July and are running a family fun day with loads of activities and fun to be had.
Lifford-Strabane Cineplex opened as a four-screen cinema in 1996 and was later renovated with a major extension adding three additional screens and a new extensive foyer being added in 2008. There are now 7 screens and extensive foyer. Following a rename competition the cinema was rebranded Eclipse Cinemas. A local student came up with the name because when you go into a studio it is bright, then the lights go down and the film starts. At the end the lights go up again, just like during an Eclipse. In 2009 sister cinemas Bundoran and Downpatrick were also branded Eclipse Cinemas.
Some of the features offered by Eclipse Cinemas Lifford Strabane are Free Car Parking, American Rocker Seating, Fully Digital Cinema, Homemade Popcorn, Free Electronic Loyalty Card, Birthday Party Room, Gift Cards Available and App available on Iphone and Android.
It was the ambition of the founders to bring City Style Cinema to Lifford Strabane, with the extra attractions of a warm welcome and high quality customer service that you would associate with a family-run business.
Screen 1 has just be renovated and work on Screen 2, 3, & 4 should start in September
