A young West Donegal woman is working in a refugee camp in Greece on a voluntarily basis and has seen what is needed to help them in this time of despair, and you can help.
Róisín Harkin, 30, a teacher at Educate Together in Letterkenny, is appalled at the conditions these refugees have to live under.
“These families are living in tents and are void of basic necessities that we take for granted.”
“Myself and my work colleague, Stephanie Sweeney from Ardara are out here for a few weeks helping these families get on their feet and it is such an eye opener the conditions these families are living under,” Róisín told Donegal Daily.
Mairead, a sister of Róisín, has taken it on herself to help supply the goods needed for these families, and gives a great opportunity for us to help out.
Mairead has organised a collection for those willing to help these young children and their families, the collection takes place in Annagry Hall on Saturday, 16th of July from 12 noon to 5 pm.
Below is a list of items that they desperately need and will be shipped to Greece as soon as they are collected. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
