Kilmacrennan’s Richard Kerr had his best weekend to date at round five of the British Superbike Championships (BSB) at Snetterton in England.
The 16 year old finished a superb third place in the first race, and also posted the fastest lap of the race earning him pole position for race two.
Richard competes in the ultra competitive Moto Star Class on pure race breed machines and is hotly contested by some of Europe’s finest young riders.
Richard had a good solid second race finishing in 8th place. He was running second in the early stages but dropped back after being hit by another machine from behind.
Lady luck hadn’t been on Richard’s side in the opening rounds of the series after suffering some mechanical issues.
The team can now turn their attention to Thruxton in two weeks time knowing that Richard has the pace and belief to be running right at the front, and with a bit of luck there is absolutely no doubt that the young Kilmacrennan man is capable of getting onto that coveted top step of the podium.
