They say one good turn deserves another.
But in the case of soccer fans John McDaid and Mickey Blake from Letterkenny, they can’t stop.
A long time ago, actually 22 years to be exact, Crievesmith man John and friend John Mansfield were desperate to get their hands on tickets for the World Cup in America in 1994.
The lads would have given their eye teeth for tickets for the Norway vs Ireland game at the Meadowlands.
But they didn’t have to as Mickey managed to secure the all-important passes.
John, a son of Barney and Kathleen McDaid, was able to get his hands on a signed Ireland jersey which he presented to Mickey as a thank you present.
John and family including wife Una (nee Porter from Raphoe) are back from their home in Philadelphia and spending some quality time in Donegal.
And yesterday John was left gobsmacked when Mickey decided to complete the circle by presenting the signed and framed jersey back to John.
All John has to do now is to figure out how he will get the framed jersey into his luggage on the way home.
And no, Mickey hasn’t volunteered to pay the freight charge!
