There is only one place to start with this week’s news, and that’s in Austin Stack Park in Tralee which was the venue for the John West Feile 2016 Division 1 final between the boys from Termon and Castleknock from Dublin on Sunday last.
What an end to a magical weekend of football, fun and new friendships. 5 victories in a row from Friday evening in Glanmaire over Celbridge and then the hosts, on Saturday over our hosts Carrigaline and then O Donovan Rossa from Derry before an incredible Semi final win over Douglas on Sunday morning. The stuff of dreams but these boys showed that they play football to a very high standard and they are magnificent ambassadors for their families and for our Club. The near 2000km Circuit of Ireland was a pleasure from start to finish and will live long in the memories of all those fortunate enough to be there. A huge thanks to Dungloe native Kevin Joyce, now resident in Carrigaline, and to all involved with Carrigaline GAA club for the fantastic hospitality over the 4 days. Well done to James Cassidy and Paddy Gallagher and all 23 boys who played their part and who made history with some superb performances against the best in the Country.
Our u12 boys are determined not to be outdone by their U14 counterparts and now face off with Cloughaneely on Thursday night 6.30pm throw in at The Burn Road. A win will secure a place in the NRB Div 1 final. Good luck to Paddy Hugh and Eddie and all the boys. Come along and give them your support.
U6 and U8 coaching continues this Saturday morning 10.30-11.30 at The Burn Road.
Our U10s will play Fanad Gaels at 11.30 on The urn Road. David will be in touch to confirm details during the week.
Our U14 boys return to action on Thursday night in Muff in the first of the Div 1 Championship play offs. Game two takes place in Gaoth Dobhair on Monday evening, both games throw in at 7.30. Good luck boys.
Our U16s will make their season entry on Friday night in Newtowncunningham and game two next Wednesday night against Glenswilly. PJ Mc Fadden has worked this small group hard and we wish them well for the season ahead.
Our Minor boys will travel to Letterkenny Gaels on Monday next to play Rd 1 of their Arena 7 NRB Div 2 Minor Championship games. Good luck boys. Well done to Enda Mc Cormick and all involved in the Donegal minor team victory in the Ulster Semi Final on Saturday last.
The TOPAZ Cash for Clubs is back for 2016 so we will be seeking your support with this. Last year we won €1000 so hopefully with your help we can collect enough tokens to enter this years draw. You can register online on topaz.ie or contact any committee member.
We ask that all parents and members LIKE our “Termon GAA Minor Board Boys and Girls” facebook page. It is the best way to keep in touch with whats happening at underage level for all age groups
All Underage coaches are reminded to contact Jimmy Mc Elwaine 086 3345878 to book The Burn Road for any coaching or matches.
LADIES:
Féile Fever hit the club last week when both the girls and boys teams headed down south for one of the largest youth tournaments in Europe. The girls made their way to Mungret St. Paul’s who were their hosts for the weekend and what hosts they were! We would like to send them the sincerest of “thank you”s for not only taking such great care of our girls, but also making sure that the managers, parents and supporters were well and truly looked after, ensuring that everyone had a fantastic and enjoyable weekend from the moment they landed to the moment they left. Lifelong friendships were definitely made. Also a huge congratulations to the girls on such an amazing achievement in making it to the All Ireland cup semi final, after playing some of the best teams in Ireland, unfortunately their weekend ended there. Thank you to everyone who came out to welcome them home and to let them know how proud the whole club is of them. Thanks to the girls for providing us with 5 exhilarating games of football over the weekend, reaching the cup semi final of Féile 16. This was no mean feat and the girls were terribly unlucky to lose by a point to Russell Gaelic Union of Downpatrick who went on to win the final. Termon club was impeccably represented by these girls and huge thanks to them and their parents for being such great ambassadors over the weekend. There are great things to come from this group of girls and if they keep up the hard work they could no doubt bring another All Ireland title back to the club.
We would also like to congratulate the boys on making it as far as the All Ireland cup final and again there’s no doubt that great things are to come from the boys as well.
Back to business now at home in Donegal where training continues Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 pm and we await our date for the semi final against Glenties.
The U14 ‘B’ girls: played Bundoran in the fair play county final in Convoy on Tuesday evening where after a few unlucky missed chances they were unsuccessful. Jodie Mc Fadden, Orla Mc Laughlin and Chelsea Gorman were among those who played exceptionally well.
Annual 5K
A massive thank you to everyone who came out on Tuesday night to walk and/or run in the 5k. Congratulations to Ivan Toner, Letterkenny AC who was first over the line in a time of 15:50 and to Fionnuala Diver, first lady home on a time of 17:57. A special thank you to our club members who organised the 5k, who helped with stewarding, food and refreshments afterwards, and a particular thank you to Don & Rosaleen Gallagher for the dozens of loaves of sandwiches which fed the troops afterwards. Finally, thank you to race director Charlie Kerr and to Grace Boyle in once again ensuring the smooth running of our annual event.

This week’s lotto draw takes place in the Lagoon, with Kath McSharry and Nicola Doherty co-ordinating and a jackpot of €1,700.
And finally, don’t forget that BINGO continues every Friday night at An Craoibhín, commencing at 9pm.
