Football
Well done to the Donegal minors and our representatives on the team, Nathan Boyle, Shane McGrath and Oisin Rooney, on a convincing 3-15 to 2-12 victory in the Ulster MFC semi-final in Breffni Park on Saturday evening. They will face Derry in the Ulster final on Sunday July 17th. We also wish Peter Boyle and his senior colleagues the very best of luck when they look to finish the job against the Farney men back in Breffni this Saturday, throw-in 7pm.

Barry Travers won the Donegal jersey correctly guessing there was €514 in The Bridgend bottle. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the bottle and those that bought lines. Thanks also to Mick McGrath and Sean O’Mahoney for their assistance and running this fund-raiser.

We’d encourage as big a Ballyshannon support as possible to make the trip down to get behind the boys as the bid bring silverware back Erneside. Training on Friday will just be from 5.15pm to 6.15pm.
Under 10, under 8 and under 6 training continues as usual this Friday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh. Hurling
Aodh Ruadh sank to a morale sapping 1-3 to 3-14 defeat in Ulster Táin League Division 2B against Sean Treacy’s on a wet Sunday morning in Garvaghey. Aodh Ruadh trailed by 0-6 to 0-2 coming up to the interval, but a sloppy goal left the Ernesiders playing catch-up. Things fell apart in second half as many players let the game pass them by and there was considerable wastefulness in front of the posts. Anthony Coughlin was Ernesider’s most economic player and he struck for goal in the second half. Ballyshannon fielded short a number of players, but the team available on the night will be disappointed with their performance. This Sunday sees Aodh Ruadh on the road yet again as they travel to Letterkenny to take on Saint Eunan’s at 4pm in the Ulster Táin League. That will be the last game ahead of the senior championship opener Buncrana the week following.
Congratulations to Paul Sheridan and the Donegal senior hurlers who beat Monaghan 5-13 to 2-14 to win the Ulster SHC Shield final.
Best of luck to the Donegal under 21s who are out against Tyrone in Letterkenny on Saturday in the All-Ireland C Hurling Championship. Aodh Ruadh are well represented in the squad with Kevin Loughlin involved in the management and Tommy Gillespie, Ciaran Rami, Eddie Lynch Jr, Stephen Connolly and Matt Ahern all part of the panel. Throw-in is at 2pm in Letterkenny.
The under 12 and under 16 leagues began last week. On Thursday the under 16s were at home to Letterkenny Gaels. Injuries and holidays meant we only had the bare minimum of 11 players. But these 11 lads showed great commitment and fought for every ball and despite being up against a physically stronger Letterkenny team they ran out worthy winners 1-10 to 0-4. We’ll have pictures from this game up on aodhruadh.org over the course of the week. With such a small panel we are in for a difficult season, but hopefully we’ll field for all the games. This Thursday we’re away to a strong Four Masters team.
The under 12s travelled to Carndonagh on Friday evening with a panel of 17. Seven of these lads have been playing with the under 14s this season and the experience they gained from that showed and was a great benefit to the squad as they ran out convincing winners over the Carn lads.
Training as normal at 12 noon on Sunday for all age groups.
