It may not have exactly ben basking in sunshine but the rain stayed away and once again the club enjoyed a super 5k.
More than 500 runners and walkers turned out for the event from which all the proceeds go to the club’s underage teams.
Once again it was a real team effort with all members of the club pulling together to ensure it was a great occasion for all those who took part.
It is impossible to thank everyone but a special word of thanks goes to Herbie McDaid and his tea, the people in the tearoom and all who donated refreshments, Michael Murphy for the sponsorship, the Gardai, the Red Cross, and anyone else who helped out in any way.
It was a terrific occasion and the huge crowd once again was a reflection of the hard work which is put into organising this event.
The 5K has now established itself as one of our main fund-raising events of the year and plans are already in place for next year’s event.
A quick congrats to all those who won the various categories but everyone who turned out and enjoyed the evening were the real winners.
