There were reports of speeding cars in Fanad and in and around Ramelton last night and in previous nights ahead of the event this weekend.
Rally organisers have been around the route of the three-day event, erecting signs asking motorists to respect local people.
But it appears a small minority of mindless morons are ignoring that advice.
“It’s rally central here for the past couple of weeks and it will be for the next few weeks after the actual rally,” complained one Fanad resident last night.
“We’ve never been too bothered by the rally. It’s only one day a year – but it’s the assholes with no sense who wreck it for weeks for residents.”
There have been a number of protests in Fanad in recent years with stages having to be cancelled when roads have been blocked.
Dozens of roads will be closed again by gardaí to allow the rally to take place between Friday and Sunday.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the event.
