Gardaí are appealing to all road uses to exercise extreme caution on the roads this evening after heavy rain across County Donegal
With surface water on many roads and more rain forecast motorists are advised to slow down, maintain a safe driving distance and always expect the unexpected.
Gardaí are advising drivers of standing water on several roads around the county.
Forecasters say up to 30mm of rain will fall in Donegal overnight.
Conditions are also slippery. And there’s more rain on the way.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with occasional showers, many of them heavy and some thundery.
It will be a little cooler than today, with maximum temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees, in light to moderate northerly breezes.
