You try every way you can to solve the puzzle, but you only ever seem to get one side right.
Everyone has their own way of trying to solve the puzzle.
You can spend endless hours pounding the pavement, doing endless miles and never seeming to see any change in how your clothes fit.
You can join a gym; use all the machines, go to all the classes, get a great sweat going; but again you never seem to see any difference.
Why not??
Why is it so hard to get all the pieces to join up so you can finally get in shape?
After all, summer is just around the corner and who doesn’t want to shed a few pounds before heading on holidays in August?
First we have to look at what is involved in getting the body that you want.
1: Burning Fat
When people think of weight loss, they always judge by what the scales say, but the scales only tell part of the story.
You can lose ‘weight’ by using regular cardio methods, but spending long hours on the roads and on machines at the gym for 1-2 lbs every few months isn’t really the optimal method for doing this.
What we really want is Fat Loss and lots of it.
While running can be beneficial for weight loss, you don’t really want to lose weight without toning up at the same time.
The latter will help you to look and feel better in your clothes, and more importantly, in your bikini or shorts on the beach.
Using a mix of cardio and resistance training is the best way to achieve this.
2: Eating the Right Foods
This is probably the trickiest part for most people when it comes to getting in shape for summer, (or in general).
What should I eat and when should I eat it?
Should I eat Carbs or not eat Carbs?
Should I eat after 6pm?
If I eat at night, will it turn to fat?
How much food is too much food?
How much water do I need to drink?
Should I count calories??
The list of questions goes on and on…
There isn’t one answer that will fit everyone unfortunately, but with the right diet guidelines, a sound nutrition plan and the right motivation, you can achieve great results in a short space of time.
3: When to exercise
How often should you be exercising in order to get to where you want to be?
How many times per week should you be doing cardio and how many times per week should you be doing your resistance training? (an equal amount to align with your goals)
Can you do too much training and could this lead to over training? (not really)
Does cardio actually make you fat?? (it doesn’t)
The list of myths and questions goes on and on when it comes to training and when to do it.
4: Moral Support
I have spoken before about how important having a supportive social circle is when it comes to losing weight and getting in shape.
You want a group of like-minded people, with the same goals as you have.
You want people who will support you when things get tough.
You want people who you can swap recipes for food with.
You want a group of people who will keep you on track and keep you motivated.
You might also want someone who you can ask questions to and get the right answer for YOU and YOUR goals
With so much conflicting information on the internet and in magazines, it is easy to see why so many people who try to get in shape end up going around in circles and eventually stopping altogether.
But it doesn’t have to be that hard and I am here to help!
On Monday the 27th of June, my Fit in 42 program will be launching the Summer Shape Up.
This Program will address all of the issues that I have outlined above.
It will use Full Body Metabolic Training to help torch fat, keep your curves and maintain muscle.
It will use Bodyweight exercises that are more effective at burning fat than any machine in your gym.
It will have a solid nutrition plan that I have used with clients who have lost more fat than they ever thought possible.
It will have a private Facebook group that is only for members of this program.
In this support group, I will be answering any questions you may have and I will be posting weekly nutritional recipes aimed at your goals.
This is a Members’ Only Group, so everything you post is private and will only be seen by the other members.
I am only taking limited numbers on this program so don’t miss out on getting started on your summer body!
