Kelly’s Toyota and Letterkenny Rugby club give a “Gift of Time” to local Donegal families through the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation.
On Saturday 14th May last, Letterkenny Rugby Club’s Senior team in association with Kelly’s Toyota pushed a Toyota Yaris from Kelly’s Toyota showroom in Mountcharles to the clubhouse at Dave Gallaher Park, Letterkenny. Their charity car push raised €1465.00 for The Jack & Jill’s Childrens Foundation, a charity that not only supports local families in Donegal with home respite care for sick children but across Ireland.
Speaking on behalf of the event organiser Terence Gallagher said “I would like to thank the lads who took part on the day along with myself, Chris Digimis, Shaun Mc Gill, Mark Quigley, Collie Farrell (Coach), Conor & Dermot Dunleavy, Caoimhín Mac Lochlainn, Keelan Kreel, Ronan O Donnell, Micheal Moran, Ciaran & Ciaran O Dowd, Martin & Ryan Mortimer, Sean Morris, Paul Madigan, Micheal Carr & Stephen Devine. They were all fantastic. I would like to thank McGettigan Coaches who drove our lads to Mountcharles and stayed with us until we got back to the clubhouse, giving us support along the way. I would like to thank Letterkenny Rugby Club for their support and to Denise Nolan, the fund raising executive from the Jack & Jill Foundation for partnering with our club for this event. I would also like to thank Grace Ann McGarvey, with her help in promoting the event & getting awareness for our charity”.
“We were absolutely delighted with the support that the public along the way gave us, they supported our charity event, they encouraged us and we are just delighted that we did it”. I would personally like to thank Brendan Kelly & his team at Kelly’s Toyota, Mountcharles and Letterkenny, without whom this event could not have been possible. Brendan has been just a fantastic support to the club for many years & nothing is a bother when events like this are put forward.” says Terence.
Anne Reilly is a Paediatric Liaison Nurse with the Jack & Jill Foundation who collected the cheque & commented on behalf of the charity “ On behalf of the Jack & Jill Foundation we would like to thank Kelly’s Toyota & Letterkenny Rugby Club, raising over €1465.00 for our charity gives us more than 90 hours of home respite care for families here in Donegal. Our families really really need support and efforts like this from local firms and local clubs means that local families will benefit. The families, little sick babies get specialised care in their own homes allowing Mums & Dads to spend time together and with their other siblings. It’s a gift, a gift of time, thank you to everyone involved, its so greatly appreciated.”
