Donegal’s 1992 All-Ireland winning captain Anthony Molloy has become the first GAA figure to be given the Freedom of Donegal.

Molloy follows Shay Given, Packie Bonner, Daniel O’Donnell, Phil Coulter, Patsy McGonagle, the 28th Infantry of Battalion and Clannad to be given the Freedom of the county.

“I’m totally honoured, humbled and proud to be the recipient of this great award,” said the Ardara man

“But I’d have to accept this award on behalf of all the men of 1992. It was a very special bunch of talented lads.”
