SOCCER: The club held a very successful underage and youth presentation night last Sunday evening in the Station House Hotel with former Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr as guest of honour.
The night has grown from strength to strength and it was good to see the room packed to capacity for the night which saw up to thirty awards handed out.
Kerr told some witty anecdotes about his time managing the Faroes as well as Ireland and encouraged all the players to follow their dream and that anything was possible if you have the determination and will to succeed.
The club would like to congratulate everyone who picked up awards and would like to thank all managers, coaches and parents for their help in preparing everyone to represent Rovers in the past season with plans already underway for the new interim season in August.
The club have a break now with the next action being the Foyle Cup in July.
The draws were made for the Cup during the week and the u17s are paired with Inishowen, Carniny Youths and Loughside.
The u14s face FD Suomi, Coleraine, and Strabane Athletic.
The under 11s are drawn alongside Strabane Athletic, Top of the Hill Celtic, Albion Stars, Carniny Youths and Roe Valley while the under 9s will play Culmore, Lagan Harps, Sion Swifts, Roe Valley and East Donegal in the group stages.
A large number of club officials and players are off to France for the Euros and we wish them bon voyage as they cheer on the boys in green.
