Rory Gallagher has been dealt a huge blow ahead of Donegal’s Ulster SFC clash wit Fermanagh on Sunday, following confirmation that Neil Gallagher will not be fit in time for the game.
Gallagher has been a key player for Donegal in recent years, and is a towering figure in the middle of the park.
He’s central to Donegal’s system, but Gallagher has conceded he won’t be fit in time for Sunday’s clash against Fermanagh in Ballybofey.
The Glenswilly clubman didn’t feature much in the league due to an on-going back problem, but it was hoped he’d be fit for the commencement of the Ulster SFC.
However, his back injury flared up again and that has set him back, and Sunday’s Ulster SFC quarter-final will come to quick for the dynamic midfielder.
Rory Gallagher will also have a debutant goalkeeper between the sticks, as Michael Boyle isn’t expected to be ready in time as he continues his rehab from a cruciate knee injury.
The battle for the jersey will be between St Michael’s man Mark-Anthony McGinley or Aodh Ruadh’s Peter Boyle.
