The Sligo 118 Rescue helicopter
A LETTERKENNY man is missing this evening off the Co Donegal coast.
He went missing off Scraggy Bay on Lough Swilly earlier today.
His car was parked nearby.
The Coast Guard 118 helicopter carried out extensive searches of the area but so far there has been no sign of the missing man.
Members of the man’s family have been waiting on the shoreline all evening hoping that he would be found.
The 118 helicopter continued in the search operation until dusk.
The RNLI and Coast Guard volunteers were also involved in sea and land searches.
The scene of the incident where the man is last believed to have been is between Rathmullan and Portsalon.
