JUST over a million euro was the total bill for Cllrs expenses last year according to the 2015 Donegal County Council Annual Report.
A breakdown of the figures reveals that the 37 elected members received a combined total of €596,340 in Representational Payments and €257,893 for their monthly allowance.
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor’s allowance for 2015 were €30,000 and €6,000 respectively.
Entertainment expenses came to €4,096 while the figure for the Cllrs Gratuity Scheme was €19,076.
The total cost for councillors Chairing Strategic Policy Committees was €30,000, the conferences attendance bill came to €10,452 while €15,477 was allocated to elected members for communications expenses.
The Donegal County Council Annual Report for 2015 was adopted at Monday’s meeting in Lifford after being proposed and seconded by Cllrs Seamus O’Domhnaill of Fianna Fail and Independent Cllr Niamh Kennedy.
