DONEGAL is set to bask in glorious sunshine right through until Sunday, Met Eireann said today.
It will be a week before Atlantic weather systems return with rain due next Monday evening.
But long term forecasts suggest that will be a minor blip with more hot weather on the way towards the end of next week.
Today’s is a bank holiday in the North and thousands of extra tourists have spent the weekend in Donegal.
Paul Diver at the Sandhouse Hotel in Rossnowlagh said the weather was a massive boost over the weekend.
“The county is doing very well and every day with a blue sky is a massive bonus,” he said.
“It’s one of our busiest weekends in a long time; things were already picking up and a good forecast for the rest of this week is even more good news.
“We’ve already had a lot of mid-week bookings for this week from people who managed to get time off work.”
It may get a little cloudier on Wednesday with the possibility of a passing shower; but the rest of the week looks great.
Met Eireann says temperatures could top 22C this Thursday – that’s as warm as Tenerife!
Early cloud today will soon lift giving Donegal another bright sunny day.
