DD HEALTH: “Nothing is certain except death and taxes”, said Benjamin Franklin.
It is not easy to talk about death but it is an important conversation.
It shouldn’t be a taboo subject because it is part of our lives.
If a member of your family is terminally ill, do you know the kind of care and support that is provided for them?
Do you know what palliative care is?
Do you know what care is provided for the terminally ill person at Donegal Hospice?
When do you go to a Hospice?
These questions and so many more will be answered at a talk, Palliative Care – What It Really Means, at Lettermacaward Church of Ireland on Friday, June 17th at 8pm.
A Specialist Hospice Doctor and an ambulant nurse will be there to explain everything about Hospice and Palliative Care.
Palliative care is described by the World Health Organisation as a holistic approach which promotes quality of life for patients and their families in facing the problems associated with life-threatening illness.
This is achieved through the prevention and relief of suffering, and by addressing physical, spiritual, social and psychological issues.
Go along to the talk and be informed about care in Donegal.
Admission to the talk is free but donations will go to Donegal Hospice.
