Work is underway to find the peninsula’s most successful businesses for the Buncrana Chamber of Commerce Awards 2016.
The organising committee is putting the finishing touches to this year’s event and hopes to build on the tremendous success of the inaugural awards ceremony in 2015.
Hundreds of local business people, employers and community groups attended last year’s event, which saw SuperValu, Buncrana earn the award for Buncrana Chamber Business of the Year and Inishowen Engineering win the Inishowen Business of the Year award.
Nominations will be opening soon for this year’s event and entrants are being sought from past applicants as well as newcomers to celebrate local businesses and their achievements at the awards ceremony on Saturday, November 12 in the Inishowen Gateway Hotel, Buncrana.
President of Buncrana Chamber of Commerce, Ryan Stewart said: “We were overwhelmed by the success of last year’s awards and we aim to build on that. The level of participation and the enthusiasm shown by all of the local businesses last year was fantastic. We’re sure the standard of the nominees will be as impressive this time around and give the adjudicators another very tough task in choosing the winners.”
“We will be adding a few additional categories this year to reflect the diversity of the types of businesses we have on our doorstep. Our launch event will be happening very shortly to get the nomination process underway. Following the launch, we would encourage our local businesses not to wait to be nominated – to put themselves forward and take the opportunity to showcase what their businesses have achieved.”
