Huddle Up Errigal – the weekend festival to be held in Donegal this September for Celtic supporters – will see hoops fans descend on the county.
This weekend the same organisers have a charity quiz night at Teac Jeac with loads of prizes including a prized signed Scott Brown jersey.
And in keeping with the Hoops ethos, all money raised will go to charity. The quiz is this Saturday night at 9pm.
This September a group of Celtic supporters aim to keep the charity work going but from here in Donegal. As we all know Ireland, in particular Donegal have a great history and connection with Celtic. To celebrate this great connection there is a two day event planned called the Huddle Up Errigal 2016 to raise funds for three very special charities.
Huddle Up Errigal Committee member John Joe McGinley said: “We have got a whole weekend of events planned, we have a band called Shenanigans on the welcome night. We have a whole range of pubs around here who want to be involved all Celtic pubs. We are the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht, if you don’t want to sit in the pub you can go and see some of the most beautiful parts of Ireland.
“Our ambition is to reignite the passion for Celtic in the Donegal Gaeltacht and to have an event for Celtic supporters and raise as much money as we can for our three charities.
“We have three charities, we have the Scoil Chonaill Bunbeg Autism Unit, Donegal hospice, because everybody has been affected by the blight of cancer and the third one is the Celtic Foundation and they are on board.
“They are endorsing and supporting these two days. We have set a target of about €5,000 for these three charities You can walk up Errigal, you can play seven a side football and you can have the craic”.
So what are the dates to keep free in your diary? The two day festival will be taking place in the Donegal Gaeltacht of Gweedore 3rd and 4th September.
