ENJOY the best of any sunshine today – it’s going to get very wet.
Forecasters are warning of a week of rain, showers and high winds.
Met Eireann’s Joanne Donnelly says the weather will be changeable this week as an Atlantic regime becomes re-established.
It will be pleasant today after a cool start with lots of sunshine, but it will be cold under any cloud as northerly winds persist.
Tuesday however will be cloudy and breezy with scattered outbreaks of rain, persistent in places. Highest temperatures 14C for Donegal in southwesterly winds.
Wednesday will be better with good sunny spells but there is a threat of passing showers also.
Thursday will be mild but also very windy with scattered outbreaks of rain, heavy at times. Temperatures will be around 12C with a similar story for Friday and Saturday.
We can expect up to 35mm of rain between Thursday and Sunday.
Long term forecasters – up to 10 days – believe however we could see warmer drier weather from the start of next week.
