DDTV: A DONEGAL singer is being tipped for stardom after supergroup Coldplay told their 17 million followers on social media site Twitter that she covered one of their songs – better than they had!
Eve Belle performed their song ‘Violet Hill’ during a TV performance last week.
And by today 70,000 people had watched it on YouTube!
Eve was appearing on I Lár an Aonaigh on BBC Northern Ireland, a performance which prompted the band to post a video of it on their Twitter account… twice, with the highest praise possible for the frontman and singer Chris Martin.
The tweet even went as far to say that Eve’s version was even better than the original.
“Loving this cover of Violet Hill – great job @EveBelleSongs!” the band led by singer Chris Martin tweeted.
In the second tweet they wrote: “we think this might be better than the original https://youtu.be/FeXHmaGcsao love ph & cm.”
The west Donegal singer/songwriter Eve is actually Eve Murtagh, who goes by the stage name Eve Belle, and signed last year with LAB Records UK.
In 2015 she released her first official music video, Too Young To Feel This Old, coinciding with the announcement.
Writing on her Facebook page, the Gaoth Dobhair singer said:”Thank you all so much for all your likes and comments about the Coldplay share.
“I’m so sorry i haven’t been able to reply properly (elves playing havoc with my phone) but i will thank you all heartily when I get home.”
