A DONEGAL man is among 15 terror suspects arrested by the PSNI following a dissident funeral yesterday.
They were arrested in Tyrone following the funeral of murdered dissident republican Michael Barr.
The 34-year-old was shot dead in the Sunset House pub in Dublin on April 25.
The Donegal man is being questioned about alleged membership of the dissident republican group the New IRA. He is being held with 14 other suspects at Musgrave street police station in Belfast.
A number of vehicles were also seized after the funeral which was flanked by masked men.
PSNI Spt Mark McEwan said: “What we saw on the streets of Strabane and in the local area is what appears, for all intents and purposes, to be a paramilitary display.
“As a result of that we have arrested 15 men in connection with suspected terrorist-related offences.
“The scenes that we have seen are not unique, but the public do expect us to act in these cases.”
