SHE’S the rising star in Donegal – and Irish – cycling and Letterkenny girl Shauna McFadden is off later today to pursue another goal.
The Loreto Letterkenny teenager is being backed by key sponsors and one of them, Voodoo owner Jason Black, is getting right behind the 15-year-old.
Shauna will race in the prestigious tour of Himmelfart as a guest rider for team Rytger – a ladies only amateur junior team that creates platforms for talented athletes like Shauna to springboard into the professional ranks.
Said Jason: “Shauna will have it all to do as Danish racing is fierce and aggressive but this gutsy young Irish rider is a powerful pocket rocket – never afraid of no-one or nothing; she has a real winning attitude.
Rytger Manager Brian Henriksen said he’s been following Shauna’s progress from Denmark and tried to sign her one year ago but unfortunately that never materialised.
“We’re so delighted to guest her to the team for this event,” said Brian.
Voodoo venue are delighted for 2016 to be one of Shaunas key sponsors to allow her to follow her cycling dreams.
Added Jason: “We’re proud of Shauna’s ambition, determination and self belief and her ethic. Our business is proud to be apart of. We wish her every success. She has worked so hard to get where she is.
“All the team at Voodoo will be following her progress.”
