The group, set up by two local actors, are currently scheduled to start rehearsals of a new original Murder Mystery play Checking Out fairly soon in the Summer of 2016, which we are in talks to stage in August of this year in the An Grianan Theatre.
Row B Productions was set up by two aspiring young actors within the local area, Eoin Callaghan (18) from Newtown and Kieron Clarke (16) who originally from London but residing in Ramelton.
The lads have worked with the likes of Iarla McGowan, Dessie Gallagher, Plunkett Ferry , Billy Patterson, Eoghan McBride, Cathleen Bradley, Patrick Doherty and Tommy Sweeney and between them they set up Row B Productions to grant the opportunity to fellow young actors from the ages of 13 – 21 who do not always get the chance to showcase there talents elsewhere.
Formed just before Christmas last year they decided to write and direct their own play and produce it themselves to a high standard, the result of this was Checking Out.
They have a tremendously talented cast who are sprawled throughout Donegal from Letterkenny to the likes of Buncrana, Creeslough and Falcarragh and even from the likes of Poland, Hungary, Scotland and England.
“We believe we have a fresh and exciting new project on our hands and with hard work, dedication and a little help it will hopefully prove to be a success and a lot of fun. We aim to make a change to the outlook on the arts and hope to prove what teenagers can truly accomplish once we put our minds to it and this project is perfect to do just that,” said Kieron.
This year’s production is a unique Murder Mystery tale and to produce it they have organised a fundraising event which is a Table Quiz Night at ARENA 7 on the 5th of May at eight o’clock with Donal Kavanagh as their quiz master for the evening and a raffle will also be taking place.
Money raised will be used to produce the play and a percentage of the proceeds raised from the event are to be donated to the Make a Wish Foundation.
