DD LIFESTYLE: SHADES OF BLUE TO BRIGHTEN THE MOOD

eye shadowDD LIFESTYLE: Blue eye shadow is the sweeping trend in eye make up this spring and summer.

Forget the frosty blues of the 70s and 80s and the Abba look – now it’s about a bold cobalt, navy and edgy azure.

It’s easy to be fearful of the look but the key is balance.

Avoid the pastel shades. Metallics are good for the evening but go for the cool, modern look of Olivia Wilde rather than the Dancing Queen vibe. Matte tones are more preferable because they will give your eye makeup a mature look.

unnamed-8Opt for a shade that complements your skin tone. Pair the blue with a neutral colour such as brown, tan, or even gray- the neutral will offset the brightness of the blue.
Balance colorful eyes with a natural rosy lipstick.

Keep your blue shadow in place with a good eyeshadow primer.

From subtle eyeliner flicks, to blue mascara, to smoky blue eyes, this look suits almost everyone.
