BITTERLY cold Arctic winds are bringing a blast of winter back to Donegal – in the last week of April.
And forecasters say we could even see snow on the hills of Donegal tonight – with hail showers and more snow tomorrow.
There won’t be enough of the white stuff to build a snowman but the bitterly cold weather has come as a shock.
It will be windy and cold with passing wintry showers, risk of snow on hills in Donegal tonight with temperatures dropping to -2C – and feeling even colder in the wind.
Tuesday will be no better as it will again be breezy and cold, a few brighter intervals at first, then widespread thundery showers with hail, and more hill snow.
Morning frosts on Wednesday will followed by even more thundery showers, rain on Thursday and more hill snow on Friday.
Saturday will see the winds ease and temperatures during the day rise to around 11C before it turns colder again on Sunday – the beginning of May!
Social media users in Donegal have been lamenting the awful start to Spring.
