PICTURE SPECIAL: Over fifty New York firefighters are currently touring Donegal as part of the on-going 1916 Centenary celebrations.
The firefighters were invited to Ireland as part of a series events which the Donegal County Council have organised to coincide with the 1916 Rising centenary commemorations.
The firefighters have been escorted around Donegal by their Letterkenny colleagues.
On Thursday, the FDNY crew were taken on a scenic bus tour, but they had a number of pit-stops, at a number of our fine array of public houses.
On Friday, many of the crew attempted to rid the body of some the toxins they had consumed the night before by participating in a GAA/Soccer match at Letterkenny Community Centre.
Later that afternoon, they visited the Donegal County Museum, and Caroline Carr said the group were fascinated by Irish history, and asked a number of questions during the tour.
Above are a series of pictures from the group as they continue their tour of Donegal.
We hope you’ve enjoyed your trip so far lads……
